Hillary Wells, Acupuncturist

Hillary Wells is a NY-licensed acupuncturist, and a certified teacher of Structural yoga. As a holistic practitioner, her approach reflects a belief in, and understanding of, the powerful interconnection of body. mind, and spirit. Hillary aims to facilitate each client’s return to optimal health and well-being by addressing imbalance as it manifests at any phase of this continuum, thus promoting harmony of the whole being and empowering the client’s own capacity for self-healing.

Hillary offers customized acupuncture/bodywork treatments or private yoga instruction tailored to the client’s specific goals. The acupuncture style that she practices is based on a Japanese lineage, specifically, the work and teachings of world-renowned living master Kiiko Matsumoto. This is a notably gentle yet results-oriented style in which diagnosis and efficacy of treatment is based on a system of palpation that provides instant feedback for both patient and practitioner.  Additional healing modalities such as moxibustion, cupping therapy, gua sha, and bodywork are integrated when appropriate.

Anyone can benefit from the harmonizing, regulating effects of acupuncture, and the reasons for seeking treatment are many; from acute and chronic health conditions, to stress management, to general wellness/disease prevention. Hillary is well-versed in treating a wide variety of conditions, with a special interest in women’s health (infertility, PMS, menstrual irregularities, fibroids, cysts, breast health, peri-menopause/menopause/post-menopause, hormonal/metabolic issues, psycho-emotional health), stress disorders, chronic conditions, and pain.

Hillary is also a certified teacher of Structural yoga; a highly therapeutic system of Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga that acknowledges and accommodates differences in body composition, alignment, and levels of flexibility among individuals. She is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and is nationally registered with the Yoga Alliance at the level of Experienced Teacher with 10 years of experience leading classes and private lessons throughout Northern New Jersey and NYC. Private and semi-private lessons are available by appointment.

Through comprehensive evaluation and dialogue Brendan is able to  direct attention to imbalances within the client and bring relief to areas of increased tension. “I consider the body to be like a house, if the foundation is compromised the surrounding structure will weaken. By focusing on the underlying causes of pain and discomfort  I look to bring the body back to a state of homeostasis .”

Christin Harvey – Massage Therapist and Feldenkrais Practitioner

“To make the impossible possible, the possible easy, and the easy elegant.” – Moshe Feldenkrais

Christin has been practicing massage therapy in NY for 21 years after graduating from the Helma Institute of Massage Therapy in 1996. Her studies at Helma included Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, reflexology, acupressure, and aromatherapy. Over the years Christin has developed her own eclectic style of massage, many of her clients have been requesting her massage services weekly for 20 years. These long-term professional relationships have greatly helped Christin hone her craft affording her the unique opportunity to see the long-term benefits of her work.

In 1999 Christin was introduced to the Feldenkrais Method when her father gave her an “Awareness Through Movement” tape. As a body worker, Christin became highly intrigued by her father’s newfound ease of movement and flexibility and soon shared his fondness and confidence in the lessons. That same year Christin enrolled in a four year Feldenkrais Training program under the tutelage of David Zemach-Bersin.

Since beginning her work with the Feldenkrais method Christin has found that both massage therapy and Feldenkrais work can be very complimentary. Many of her clients receive both weekly massages and Feldenkrais lessons. Both methods can be used in conjunction to treat common conditions such as: back, neck, and shoulder pain, TMJ pain, sciatica, sports injuries, strains & sprains, scoliosis, and even those with serious neurological problems such as Parkinson’s and stroke. Working with the Feldenkrais Method has broadened Christin’s professional scope, helping her to expand her understanding of how the body and mind work together.

Christin continues to enhance her Feldenkrais knowledge base, as well as advanced massage practices by participating in advanced training s and workshops each year.

Tyler Ardizzone – Pain Release Specialist

“I consider Tyler to be miracle sent. Whenever I find myself in pain or out of alignment physically and emotionally, he finds the root of the situation with ease and grace.” -Jack G.

Pain is aggravatingly mysterious. At least that is what Tyler believed as he struggled with chronic low back pain and knee issues as a teenager. Months of physical therapy helped improve his function and taking pills reduced the symptoms for a couple hours, but his pain and the underlying cause of it still remained.

As an exercise science student at Springfield College, Tyler supplemented his education by attending seminars, learning from mentors, reading books, and applying everything he learned to find and remove the cause of his pain. But simply removing his pain was not enough. Tyler decided to become a personal trainer, so that he could help people with pain like his first client, Mary.

An 84 year old with a lust for adventure like she was still in her 20s, Mary would stumble into the gym with a smile on her face despite having chronic pain in her knees and back. After 3 months of working together, Mary experienced her first pain-free day in decades. To her, it was a miracle, but Tyler knew that it didn’t have to take 3 months.

In search of the most effective method to release pain, Tyler learned techniques like NeuroKinetic Therapy and NeuroMuscular Reprogramming from some of the most successful manual therapists in the country. He now uses multiple modalities to facilitate more change in 30 minutes than in 3 months of using only corrective exercises.

Tyler has worked on the following conditions: neck pain; upper back pain; low back pain;  Foot and ankle pain and instability; herniated discs and sciatica; neuropathy; carpal tunnel syndrome; knee instability and weakness before and after surgery; shoulder dysfunction;  fibromyalgia; tendonitis; muscle weakness and loss of balance; osteoarthritis; headaches & migraines.

Lisa LaCava – Reiki Master

Lisa first became interested in energy work over seven years ago. Her desire to gain more knowledge of energy as a mode of healing led her to create her own intuitive healing practice.  As her passion and dedication to helping others grew, she was guided to formalize her work and became a Reiki practitioner in 2013 and subsequently a Reiki Master/Teacher in 2014.  Because of her love of learning and guiding clients to their transformation and healing, she was compelled to learn and offer Integrated Energy Therapy® in 2015.
Reiki is a gentle non-invasive, hands on method of energy healing.  Reiki reduces stress, dissolves energy blockages, helps manage physical discomfort and enhances and normalizes function in all systems restoring balance and harmony and promoting the relaxation response.  IET® healing is believed to “get the issues out of tissues”, as it creates healing and change on a cellular level. It identifies and releases deeply suppressed feelings and core cellular memories. Both healing modalities release energy blocks that limit health, life purpose, and creativity.
Lisa provides a healing experience that is truly exceptional as she brings in the use of her intuitive and spiritual gifts as well as crystals; however, each session is uniquely tailored to the needs of the client.  Sessions promote a natural balance and overall well being of mind, body and spirit, through a sacred healing.
